Studies indicate that the likelihood of a teen using alcohol, tobacco or other drugs decreases the more that the child believes usage would upset his or her parents. Parents in partnership with the schools can work together to eliminate the tolerance of young people using alcohol, tobacco or other drugs. The Community of Concern fosters these partnerships.
By joining together, your community’s schools, parents and students are able to participate as a group in the effort to deal with substance abuse prevention through education and cooperation. Parent power is stronger than peer pressure! Together we will change the culture regarding underage drinking and illicit drug use.
